Data of over 200,000 patients, staff affected by Medlab hack

Around 223,000 patients and staff have been impacted by a cyberattack on Medlab Pathology, according to a forensic investigation by Australian Clinical Labs. The hacked data includes medical records, credit card numbers, and Medicare numbers. However, there is no evidence of misuse of the information. Australian Clinical Labs will contact affected individuals directly and provide support. ACL is also working with government authorities to offer free credit monitoring and document replacement. Medlab is the latest Australian company to fall victim to cyber incidents, following health insurer Medibank and Pinnacle Midlands Health Network.
