Data risk report shows healthcare worker has access to 31,000 sensitive files on first day of work

Cybersecurity company Varonis has released a report highlighting the issue of unrestricted data in the healthcare industry. The report emphasizes the importance of data security as organizations face security gaps from remote working and cloud migration. Key findings include the fact that 20% of all files are open to every employee and that 77% of companies have over 500 accounts with passwords that never expire. This puts sensitive information, such as patient data, at risk of being accessed, copied, changed, or deleted by cybercriminals.
