Digital tools prevent hundreds of sepsis deaths across three hospitals

Cambridge University Hospitals, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust and Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital have reduced mortality rates associated with sepsis through the use of digital early warning systems. These systems, which use algorithms, can identify the early detection signs of sepsis by analysing a patient’s vital signs. The tech has led to a significant drop in sepsis deaths in the last three years and is increasing routine screening, allowing for faster treatment.
