Digital tools saving ‘hundreds’ from sepsis to be rolled out across NHS

New “alert and action” technology will be introduced across the NHS to identify signs of sepsis in patients. The technology uses algorithms to read vital signs and alert clinicians if a patient’s condition starts worsening. Digital systems in hospitals at Cambridge, Liverpool and Berkshire is already being used to detect sepsis, with a 100% screening rate in some departments.
