Medical researchers are pioneering deep-learning methods to better locate women at high risk of developing breast cancer, offering more personalised medicine for patients. Although existing tools such as the Gail score, the IBIS score, and BCSC tool are useful for assessing risk, they can also be misleading and don’t fit seamlessly into a physician’s workflow. Experts hope that AI-enhanced algorithms will offer a more individualised, accurate assessment process.
