Doc messaging system launched by AAFP, Surescripts

The American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) has launched a new messaging system called AAFP Physicians Direct. It is built on the Surescripts Network for Clinical Interoperability and allows doctors to securely communicate with each other. The service will provide a way for physicians to share information, such as referrals and lab results, to improve the overall quality of care they provide. AAFP Physicians Direct will be available to nearly 75,000 family physicians across the United States.
