The London hospitals disrupted by a recent cyber attack were targeted by Qilin, a ransomware gang, who claim the attack was a political protest against the UK government’s actions in an undisclosed war. The group, believed to be based in Russia, targeted blood test firm Synnovis, resulting in postponed operations and appointments. The hackers apologized for the harm caused but put the blame on the UK government.
