LinkedIn messages have been exploited in identity theft attacks, according to cybersecurity firm Cluster25. The perpetrators hacked LinkedIn accounts to send messages disguised as job offers with links to malware-infected PDF files primarily targeting professionals in sales and finance in Italy. This malware, known as DuckTail, can steal personal information such as cookies, session data, and browser credentials and take over users’ Facebook Business accounts. Cybersecurity measures such as updated antivirus software and caution against opening files from unfamiliar sources are recommended.
