E-referrals to go live in November

The NHS e-referral service will be launched in November to replace the Choose and Book system. The open-source technology-based system will offer a referrals service, that’s no different from the previous Choose and Book service which was developed a decade ago. The NHS may make the e-referrals service compulsory and may use an incentive or penalty system to ensure hospitals use the service.
