An Ohio health system, Aultman Health Foundation, has notified 7,300 patients that a former employee may have improperly accessed their private records over a span of more than a decade. The employee had access to patients’ personal information beyond their job responsibilities. The health system has fired the employee and is offering free credit monitoring and identity theft protection to affected individuals. Aultman is implementing additional measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
