EHR vendors still falling short on interoperability, data integration

External integration is the worst aspect of electronic health record (EHR) user experiences, according to a survey from KLAS Arch Collaborative. The report found that 47% of clinicians cannot easily access patient data from external organizations via their EHRs and often have to wade through duplicated data. Data also lacks accuracy, relevance, and accessibility. Some respondents pushed back against inadequate government data-sharing standards and suggested establishing an interoperability governance committee.
