EHRA on the ‘big lift’ of decision support certification

Health IT developers are struggling with multiple overlapping federal requirements, which include obligatory annual projects for information blocking compliance and a demanding timetable for decision support certification. The HIMSS Electronic Health Record Association has suggested a “flex-year approach” to reduce the pressure of annual deployments while also seeking to standardize data segmentation laws on a state level to avoid managing different requirements in different places.
