Eleven of Scotland’s 14 health boards and its ambulance service have been targeted by ransomware attacks that have struck computer systems in the UK and worldwide. Following two meetings of the Scottish government’s resilience committee, First Minister Nicola Sturgeon revealed that “all necessary steps” were being taken to address the crisis. There is currently no evidence that patient data has been compromised. The boards affected include Borderes, Fife, Glasgow, Grampian, Highland and Forth Valley.
