Estee Lauder, Greggs, and easyJet are among 542 firms identified by the UK government as failing to pay the national living wage. Breaches included making workers pay for uniforms, or making illegal deductions for PPE, food, childcare, and training. The companies have been forced to repay over £16m to 172,000 underpaid workers since 2015. The worst offender was recruitment company Staffline, which underpaid almost £5m to 34,000 workers.
