‘Etherhiding’ Blockchain Technique Hides Malware in WordPress Sites

Threat actors have hidden malicious code in proprietary blockchain technology for malware spread during a campaign that uses fraudulent browser updates. The EtherHiding technique hosts parts of the malicious code in Binance’s BSC contracts. The researchers from Guardio, who have monitored this, recommend securing WordPress sites and keeping their infrastructure and plugins updated to fight this. Binance resolving existing vulnerabilities may also block the ClearFake attack.
