‘Ethical hacker’ calls BYOD a nightmare
Kevin Johnson, CEO of network security consulting firm Secure Ideas, spoke at a healthcare IT conference about the security risks associated with bring your own device (BYOD) policies in healthcare organizations. Johnson highlighted the vulnerabilities of personal devices, such as the potential for data loss and the security risks posed by unsecure applications. He also discussed the challenges of enforcing policies to prohibit certain applications and suggested that if BYOD policies are adopted, only the most secure mobile devices should be allowed on the network.
