Ex security chief warns of future attacks

Former CEO of the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC), Ciaran Martin has warned that the NHS could be vulnerable to further cyber-attacks should it not update its computer systems. This follows a ransomware attack which drastically disrupted healthcare services in the city of London, with the Russian hacking group Qilin demanding a £40m ransom, publishing stolen data online after the NHS rejected their demands. Identified issues with cybersecurity include outdated systems, a lack of backup options and poor security measures.
