A potent malware called Atomic macOS Stealer (AMOS) is increasingly targeting Apple users. The malware tricks users into installing it by offering fake updates for Safari and Chrome, a strategy known as “ClearFake.” Once installed, AMOS can steal user data, including credit card information and iCloud Keychain passwords. Users can help protect themselves by downloading updates only from trusted sources, not bypassing macOS Gatekeeper protections, and treating pop-ups and download triggers with caution.
