Fears for patient data after ransomware attack on NHS software supplier | NHS

Advanced, a supplier of healthcare systems to Britain’s National Health Service (NHS), confirmed it was hit by a ransomware attack earlier this month. The company, which supplies 111 services as well as urgent treatment centres, said they are investigating “potentially impacted data.” Unless it has been completely contained, patient data could be at risk. The UK National Cyber Security Centre and other Government bodies are attempting to discover the scale of the incursion amid fears patient information may have been taken.
