Fears NHS cyberattack recovery causing ‘total chaos’ could last a year
A cyberattack on the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) could leave hospitals taking more than a year to recover patient records. The assault on software supplier Advanced has sent NHS systems into chaos. Key among them is the Carenotes service for storing patient records. Several systems remain down weeks after the initial attack, with NHS insiders indicating the recovery process could take two weeks for each day services were lost. A temporary digital solution has been implemented to mitigate risk.
