Fears of cyberattack as tender reveals NHS Highland web security ‘compromised’

NHS Highland’s website has been considered “obsolete” and “un-editable”, raising concerns of a potential cyber attack. Scottish Tory MSP Miles Briggs believes NHS Highland has disregarded the severity of the risk, blaming its negligence on pandemic-related resource constraints. NHS Highland plans to award a tender for website redevelopment in March. Briggs stressed all health boards must prioritise cybersecurity and called for greater national investment in IT infrastructure.
