February 2024 Healthcare Data Breach Report

There was a decline in healthcare sector data breaches for the second month in a row, according to the Office for Civil Rights. February saw 10.6% fewer breaches than January, following a 22% drop from December 2023 to January 2024. Despite this, there was a 22.9% increase in breaches compared to February 2023. The largest breach in February 2024 involved 2.35 million records at the Medical Management Resource Group. Ransomware attacks remain an ongoing issue.
