Feds bust Blackcat malware ring

The US Department of Justice (DoJ) has shut down a massive ransomware operation – BlackCat. The Southern Florida District Office led the operation, which helped victims of the malware recover data via a purpose-built decryption tool. The FBI has helped hundreds of victims, both domestic and international, recover their systems, saving them from ransom demands totaling about $68m.
