Feds issue Snatch ransomware warning as gang claims latest victim
The FBI and Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) have warned of ransomware gang Snatch, whose victims include the City of Modesto, Tampa General Hospital, and the Canadian Nurses Association. Snatch is known for using a double extortion method, by both exfiltrating and encrypting data. The group, first observed in 2018, has targeted various organizations, and reportedly uses a Russian bulletproof hosting service.
