Female, nonrural physicians deliver more telehealth care: study
Female doctors and physicians in non-rural practices are more likely to provide care via telehealth, according to a study by Health Affairs. The research analyzed Medicare claims data from 2022 to understand patterns of telehealth use in the U.S., revealing that 23% of psychiatrists conducted visits through telehealth, while other specialties did fewer than 1%. The authors suggested female physicians might value the flexibility telehealth offers.
