Ferret investigation: NHS staff disciplined over data law breaches

At least 1,395 breaches of patient data have been recorded within Scotland’s NHS, according to The Ferret, while several health boards failed to reveal their figures. These breaches led to disciplinary action for 73 people, with four cases reported to the police. The actual number is believed to be higher, as some NHS health boards declined to disclose their figures. The investigation was initiated after a radiographer abused his position to access and stalk over 200 female patients.
