Fertility app Premom shared users’ health data without consent, FTC says

Fertility-tracking app Premom, owned by Easy Healthcare, has been accused by the Federal Trade Commission of sharing users’ health data with third parties without consent. The app offers fertility tracking tools and sells ovulation test kits. The FTC found that Premom shared users’ personal health information, including location, with third parties for advertising purposes without disclosing this to users. As a result, Premom has been ordered to refrain from sharing health information without consent and pay a $200,000 settlement fee. The FTC has been cracking down on companies for data-sharing practices, including a case with drug-cost platform GoodRx.
