FESCARO Becomes Leading Force in Automotive Cybersecurity with Grand Slam Certification Victory

If you live in the always vibrant San Francisco Bay Area, you’ll know that our lifestyle is fast-paced and innovative. At the edges of this dynamic domain are two online realities that are affecting all our lives and industries: cybersecurity and healthcare.

South Korea has been making some massive strides in both fields. A company named FESCARO is leading the charge as a developer and white hat hacker duo, who are rocking the automotive cybersecurity universe.

Now, some of you may be thinking: “Wait up, automotive cybersecurity? That’s a thing?” Well, my friends, as vehicles become more software-laden, so do their vulnerabilities. With more software comes more temptations for hacking threats.

In 2020, the UN Economic Commission sprang into action. Europeans, always so sensible, set regulations demanding three critical certifications from automakers wanting to sell their rides in any of the EU’s 27 countries. We’re talking Cyber Security Management System (CSMS), Software Update and Management System (SUMS), and Vehicle Type Approval (VTA).

Over three years, FESCARO spearheaded the process for a global automaker named K Group, which now proudly shares that it’s completed all the necessary certifications. This journey included high-level regulatory consulting, threat analysis, risk assessments, security solutions, and more.

The FESCARO team excelled in the ISO/SAE 21434 certification as well, a standard about cybersecurity engineering. This recognition provided the criteria for fixing CSMS, which Kanavi Mobility, a global controller development company, implemented.

FESCARO stands out because it understands the unique needs of its customers. One of its intriguing success cases includes developing a software solution with top-notch compatibility with the Hardware Security Module (HSM) for a global automaker. This functionality allowed the car manufacturer to meet stringent security requirements without swapping existing semiconductor chips.

Of course, innovative solutions like this mean some substantial savings: over 50% reduced cost, workforce, and time. Now, that’s just smart business!

The company also earned a weighty honor, the FIPS 140-2 certification from our very own U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This nod qualifies FESCARO’s creations as reliable enough for the U.S. Department of Defense. I mean, if it’s good enough for our federal bigwigs, it should be good enough for us, right?

They’re not resting on their laurels either. FESCARO already has strategic partnerships with leading automotive semiconductor companies and was even recognized as one of the ‘Top 10 Automotive Solutions Providers 2023’.

“To sum up, we’re dedicated to serving you with advanced, sophisticated solutions,” says the duo leading the company, Seok-min Hong, and Hyun-jung Lee. “If you’re facing challenges with automotive software, we’re here to make breakthroughs and support you along the way.”

In our Bay Area, we believe in embracing innovation. FESCARO seems to fit right into our ethos, making exciting strides in cybersecurity and paving the way for a safer, tech-controlled automotive future. So, buckle up, friends – with companies like FESCARO in the driver’s seat, it’s bound to be an exhilarating ride!
