Fintech firm hit by Log4j hack refuses to pay $5 million ransom

Vietnamese crypto trading platform ONUS suffered a cyber attack due to a vulnerable Log4j version in its payment system. The attackers exploited the Log4Shell vulnerability and stole data of nearly 2 million customers. They demanded a $5 million ransom, which ONUS refused to pay, leading to the customer data being put up for sale on forums. ONUS has since advised customers of the breach.
