Firms must do more to combat threat of cyber attacks, data regulator warns

The UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has revealed more businesses than ever are experiencing cybersecurity breaches, with over 3,000 cyber attacks reported in 2023. The finance, retail, and education sectors were most affected. The regulator also emphasised businesses employing basic cybersecurity measures and released a report on common security mistakes.
