FirstHealth of the Carolinas solves access problem with Virtual Provider program

FirstHealth of the Carolinas is addressing healthcare provider shortages and enhancing patient access through its Virtual Provider telemedicine program. The initiative offers initial care to those without a primary care provider, acting as a virtual replacement during staff shortages, and assisting with Medicare annual wellness visits. Implemented since June 2022, the program has seen success, achieving a 72% completion rate for Medicare visits and increasing work relative value units.
