Florida cybersecurity safe harbor bill advances

The Florida House of Representatives’ Commerce Committee has passed the Cybersecurity Incident Liability Act (H.B 473) to the State Appropriations Subcommittee. Spearheaded by Mike Giallombardo, the bill provides cyber incident liability coverage for government agencies and entities handling personal data if compliant with specific cyber protection frameworks. Florida joins Ohio, Utah, and Connecticut in proposing such measures.
