Flu Cases Climbing as We Return to a More ‘Typical’ Season

US flu cases are rising, resembling a typical pre-pandemic flu season. National infectious disease experts say that it is still essential to get vaccinated. Seasonal influenza activity is on the rise, mostly in the South Central, Southeast, and West Coast regions. Weekly flu hospital admissions are also up. According to the Walgreens Flu Index, Puerto Rico, Mississippi, and Louisiana have the most flu activity. The chief medical officer of Walgreens anticipates a peak in flu activity in December and February.
