Forefront Dermatology reports breach of 2.4M patient records

Forefront Dermatology, a Wisconsin-based organization with locations in 21 states, experienced a data security incident that may have exposed over 2.4 million patient records. Unauthorized access to certain files in the organization’s IT system containing patient and employee information occurred between May 28 and June 4. The breach did not involve social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, or financial account information. Forefront Dermatology is enhancing its security protocols to prevent future incidents. This breach is one of several recent attacks on healthcare systems.
