Former CEO of Florida’s Baptist Health dies

William Cordell Mason, EdD, former CEO and president emeritus of Jacksonville’s Baptist Health, has died aged 86. Mason had a long career in healthcare, serving as a foreign service officer in the U.S. State Department and building the Baptist Medical Center in India. He also contributed to Jacksonville’s healthcare with the Wolfson Children’s Hospital and Life Flight, the area’s first helicopter ambulance service.
