Former US CISO calls for Trump to fill that post
During a House subcommittee meeting on cybersecurity, the first government chief information security officer (CISO) called for President Trump to appoint a new federal CISO. The position has been vacant since February, which is concerning given the increase in cyberthreats. The CISO also suggested renaming the NIST Cybersecurity Framework to the National Cybersecurity Framework and called for the Inspector General and auditing committees to assess government IT systems. Cybersecurity should be seen as a risk management issue rather than solely a tech concern.
