Geisinger’s 1 Million Patient Data Breach Leads to Lawsuit

A patient in Pennsylvania has filed a class-action suit against healthcare provider Geisinger, following a significant data security breach. IT vendor, Nuance, owned by Microsoft, revealed that a former employee may have accessed the data of one million Geisinger patients. The patient filing the suit has accused both Geisinger and Nuance of failing to adequately protect sensitive personal information.
