Google ads push malicious CPU-Z app from fake Windows news site
Cyber criminals are using Google ads to distribute a trojanized version of the popular hardware profiling tool, CPU-Z, to deliver the Redline malware which steals information, according to Malwarebytes. Users unwillingly host the trojanized CPU-Z by clicking on a fraudulent Google ad. The malicious ad redirects victims to a mirror site masked as WindowsReport, a legitimate Windows news site.
