Google Play Protect Introduces Real-Time Code-Level Scanning for Android Malware

Google has updated its Play Protect to support real-time code-level scanning for malicious apps before they’re downloaded onto Android devices. The feature expands on previous protections and flags apps that have never been scanned before. The new feature aims to better protect users against ‘malicious polymorphic apps’, and is being initially rolled out in selected countries, starting with India.
