Google TAG Warns of Russian Hackers Conducting Phishing Attacks in Ukraine

Hackers tied to Russia’s military intelligence have targeted hundreds of Ukrainians in phishing campaigns to gather intelligence and influence public discourse. Google’s Threat Analysis Group identified the group as FROZENLAKE, which has been active since 2009. The latest attacks involved cross-site scripting attacks on Ukrainian government websites. Among the campaigns, more than 60% originated from Russia in the first three months of 2023.
