Government sends out ‘stay at home’ text messages as coronavirus lockdown begins

siteadmin March 24, 2020

The UK government is sending out text messages urging citizens to stay home due to the coronavirus lockdown. The texts also provide rules and exemptions related to the lockdown, which followed PM Boris Johnson’s announcement of new measures against the spread of the Covid-19. Network operators are sending out texts on behalf of the government and hence messages arrive at different times. Meanwhile, there are warnings from cyber security experts about bogus alerts.
