Govt Alerts Mobile Users, Issues High-Risk Warning Over Malware Attacks

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has cautioned citizens against malvertising, a cybercrime tactic where users are tricked into clicking on seemingly legitimate advertisements, leading to the installation of damaging malware. The advisory states that malware can hijack email or social media accounts, redirect web browsers to suspicious pages, and disable security programs. It advises users to avoid suspicious emails and links, keep software up-to-date, backup data regularly, install ad-blockers, and maintain updated antivirus solutions.
