GP appointment booking system down after global tech outage, NHS confirms

A significant IT outage affecting many GP surgeries across the UK has disrupted the ability to access and book appointments as well as view patient records. The administration systems of some hospitals have been affected too. No impact on emergency services has been reported. The issues have been traced to the EMIS Web GP booking system and the Crowdstrike antivirus software. The NHS and cybersecurity engineers are working round the clock to resolve the problem.
