GP fears patients will suffer harm after NHS cyber attack

A cyber attack on the NHS in London has caused concern for the welfare of patients. Six large NHS Trusts, including Guy’s and St Thomas’, Great Ormond Street and King’s College Hospital, were targeted; hundreds of operations have already been cancelled, and almost 1,000 blood tests each week stopped. Dr James Taylor of South Street Medical Centre in Greenwich said the IT system shutdown had affected 10,000 patients. The disruption is expected to continue until the end of June.
