GP practices face contract breach probe upon ‘requires improvement’ rating

UK regional health authority, NHS England’s London team, is planning to automate assessments for a breach of contract for London’s GP clinics rated as “requires improvement” by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). Current guidelines state those rated as “inadequate” should receive a breach notice. London has a higher-than-average number of clinics that “require improvement” and the change would apply to practices which have received this rating previously as well as those that do so in the future.
