GPs, pharmacies and airports in UK affected by IT outage

A global IT outage has disrupted services in healthcare, transport, and banking across the UK, including GPs’ records systems, pharmacy services, and UK airports. Cybersecurity firm Crowdstrike attributed the issue to a content update defect. NHS advised patients to attend appointments unless told otherwise. The National Pharmacy Association confirmed the issue was affecting access to prescriptions and deliveries. Air travel was affected with queues at airports and manual check-in at certain places. The British Retail Consortium noted that some retailers could not take card payments but the issue has been largely resolved.
