Hackers are using an incredibly sneaky trick to hide malware
Popular password manager KeePass has been impersonated via malware hidden in a Google Ad, which can infect PCs. The Malwarebytes-spotted malicious link features at the top of search results and appears to be linked to the official KeePass site. However, it uses Punycode to change the website address, replacing the ‘K’ with one that has a distinguishable accent below. The scam can trick web users into downloading a virus linked to malicious apps that steal personal data. The use of an ad blocker and a robust antivirus is advised to counter such threats.
