Hackers are using developing countries for ransomware practice
Ransomware attackers are experimenting with their methods in developing countries before targeting countries with more sophisticated security measures, according to cyber security firm Performanta. The firm reported that countries like Africa, Asia, and South America are being used as platforms to test malicious programs before targeting resource-rich countries. Increased cyber attacks in these developing regions are partly due to rapid digitization, strong internet networks, and inadequate protection.
