QR codes are increasingly being exploited for phishing and malware attacks, according to software-as-a-service-based cloud messaging security firm SlashNext. The firm found companies being targeted by malicious Quishing and QRLJacking tactics that either install malware or direct users to harmful websites through codes. Users are recommended to scan codes from verified sources, ensure antivirus software is kept up-to-date, and to cross-check destination URLs before use to stay secure.
