Hackers leverage popular encrypted app, disguising malware payloads as military recruitment offers

Russian hackers are reportedly targeting Ukraine’s military with malware attacks, according to the State Special Communications Service. The cybercriminals are using false recruitment adverts for the Ukrainian and Israeli militaries to spread the malware. Ukrainian authorities have taken action against these cyberattacks, which were initially detected by TrendMicro in late December 2023.
